North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, the CDC, Dare County Officials and growing concerns about the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) require action be taken regarding events planned on the Outer Banks. Officials have cancelled all events of more than 100 people through the next 8 weeks. Following these instructions, the Outer Banks Bluegrass Island Festival 2020 has been cancelled. While this decision is disappointing for all of us, we fully support our county officials as our primary concern is the well-being, health, and safety of everyone.
We appreciate the continued support of our festival patrons, sponsors, vendors, volunteers and the staff at Festival Park. This is a challenge we all face, in our own way and as a nation. It is our hope that this will help with the prevention of illness and the spread of this disease. Please be patient as we work through this together.
Many of you will have questions about your tickets. Our no refund ticket policy as stated on our ticket page, festival flyer and on your printed tickets states, “All ticket sales are final and no refunds are given for any reason. However, if for any reason you cannot attend the festival your unscanned ticket or pass can be used the following year.” All 2020 tickets purchased will be good for the 2021 festival. Just bring your 2020 ticket with you to the 2021 festival and you will be admitted. All Single Day Tickets will be good for any day you choose in 2021. We will be contacting VIP ticketholders individually. The dates for next year’s festival are May 13-15, 2021. We appreciate your support and we look forward to seeing you at the Outer Banks Bluegrass Island Festival in 2021.
In the meantime, thank you all and please stay safe and healthy. Cory Hemilright
